Did you get yours?

I personally decided to wait a little bit for my iPhone. Nice to let the hoopla die down, and since we're no longer in the Bay Area it was not as exciting to see things going on around the Apple Store at the Biltmore in Phoenix.

Now, had I been in Palo Alto where Steve showed up, I would have bought my phone then and there to say that "I had been there when...".

Some people are loving them, some are not happy and are at least for the next little bit locked into a 2 year commitment with AT&I WISH I HAD A SIGNAL "T".

I will confess that I did go with my wife to the local AT&T Store where they had two of these pinned to the wall with a Police guard. One guy was there who worked for Freescale, a processor manufacturer who was dissecting the features of the phone and the downside of not having GPS built-in. There was a gal on the other phone making calls to all of her friends and looking rather rude at other customers who wanted to try out the new phone.

I watched this in amazement and finally turned to the guy and said "May I". He handed me the phone and the connection was made.

Was I impressed? At the phone, the design, the weight, the fact that the display looks as good in person as it did when Steve unveiled it at MacWorld? At the fact that you could actually type on it and that things functioned as they should? Yes, I was impressed. What did not impress me was the internet access part of it as it was slow. Now we were in an AT&I WISH I HAD A SIGNAL "T" store and they should actually have a wireless network in there to show the strength of things, but theirs was probably searching for a signal to latch onto!

For all of the engineers at Apple who created this wonderous piece of technology...Awesome job!
For Steve and his discerning taste and asthetics...BRAVO

For AT&I WISH I HAD A SIGNAL "T"...GET A LIFE AND FOR GOODNESS SAKES SPEED UP THE NETWORK!!!

Thanks Steve for yet another great slice of the tech pie.

Can't wait for LEOPARD!!!

Mike
